In a tragic incident in Barangay Pangtud, Pidigan, Abra, a 48-year-old man named Luis Bernardez, Jr. was fatally stabbed by his 44-year-old brother, Jorge Bernardez, after a heated altercation outside their residence.
The altercation reportedly began when Jorge was awakened by Luis’s drunken shouts and challenges outside their house. This led to a confrontation between the two brothers, which quickly escalated into a verbal argument and eventually turned physical.
During the altercation, Luis allegedly struck Jorge with a steel bar, hitting him in the neck. In retaliation, Jorge stabbed Luis multiple times, resulting in the tragic death of his brother.
The incident, which took place in front of their sibling, Jessie, who tried to intervene but was unable to stop the violence, left Luis with 14 stab wounds in his chest and back.
