In a recent incident in Shelton, Connecticut, four teenagers were arrested by the local police for allegedly stealing a car. The authorities received a tip-off about a Subaru Legacy that was reported stolen from Southbury. When Shelton officers spotted the car on Center Street, they immediately recognised it from the stolen vehicle report.

Following the sighting, patrol officers later located the stolen car on Shelton Avenue. Upon attempting to stop the driver, the suspects fled the scene, leading the officers on a chase down Nells Rock Road. Eventually, the car was found disabled off the road, with the driver managing to escape while three teenagers remained inside the vehicle.

The teenagers, identified as males aged 15, 16, and 19, all hailing from Hamden, were taken into custody by the Shelton police. They have been charged with the theft of a motor vehicle, a serious offence that carries legal consequences in the state of Connecticut.

Among the teenagers arrested, 19-year-old Evan Cummings, was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Derby court to face the charges brought against him. Additionally, the driver who managed to flee the scene, a 17-year-old male also from Hamden, was apprehended and charged with the same offence of motor vehicle theft.

Following their arrests, the three juvenile teenagers were released into the custody of their parents and are expected to appear in juvenile court to address the charges brought against them. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to the law and the consequences of engaging in criminal activities.
