In a heartwarming act of kindness, a Good Samaritan in Ohio discovered a newborn baby lying in the grass, still connected to its unconscious mother’s umbilical cord. The incident took place outside a hotel in Westlake, Ohio, where the baby was found crying and face down.

The quick-thinking woman who discovered the mother and child took immediate action by cutting the umbilical cord and providing care to the baby until paramedics arrived on the scene, according to the local police department.
Following the rescue, both the baby’s parents, Chanel Mueller, 42, and John Bratsch, 35, faced charges related to child endangerment. Bratsch, who identified himself as the baby’s father, claimed that the baby was unexpectedly born in a motel room. He further stated that he was cleaning the room when the mother inexplicably walked out onto the lawn with the newborn.
Subsequent investigations revealed that Bratsch had a warrant for a felony parole violation, as well as warrants for drug possession and traffic offences. The legal status of Mueller and Bratsch remains uncertain, as it is unclear if either of them has entered a plea.
