Accident – Death – Obituary News : A 22-year-old university student in Bengaluru has been accused of fatally stabbing a security guard who refused him entry to his college’s annual day celebrations. The victim, identified as Jai Kishan Roy, 52, was not only a security guard but also oversaw the discipline committee at the college situated in Kempapura, Bengaluru north.

The alleged perpetrator, Bhargav Jyothi Burman, a 22-year-old third-year BA student at Sindhi College and also a native of Bihar, reportedly attacked Roy around 2pm. It is suspected that Burman was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Local residents intervened and detained Burman until law enforcement arrived on the scene. Police are awaiting the results of Burman’s blood test to confirm his alcohol levels. Several students witnessed the altercation, according to officials.

Reports suggest that the college administration had informed students in advance that re-entry to the premises would not be permitted once they exited during the annual day festivities. Burman, who had left the campus and attempted to return, clashed with Roy when the latter tried to enforce the rule.

In a fit of rage, Burman purchased a knife from a nearby store and allegedly stabbed Roy three times, resulting in the guard’s tragic demise. The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
