In the tropical Atlantic, the latest update on Hurricane Beryl reveals that the storm has intensified to a Category 3 hurricane, with sustained winds reaching 120 mph. As it moves towards the western Caribbean, Beryl is expected to impact popular tourist destinations such as the Cayman Islands, Cozumel, and Cancun over the next 1 to 2 days.

Despite its current strength, forecasters are noting the presence of wind shear ahead of Beryl, which could lead to some weakening as it approaches the Yucatan Peninsula. By the time it reaches this area, Beryl is projected to be downgraded to a Category 1 hurricane, with winds of around 90 mph.

After passing through the Yucatan, Beryl is expected to enter the Bay of Campeche, where it is predicted to make a second landfall near Brownsville, Texas, still as a Category 1 hurricane. The potential impact of this storm on coastal communities is being closely monitored by local authorities and emergency response teams.
