Accident – Death – Obituary News :

In a heartbreaking turn of events, the Black family from Lexington, Kentucky, has been left devastated after discovering that their daughter Avery’s grave marker had seemingly gone missing. Seven years ago, Bryan and Katie Black experienced the tragic loss of their daughter, who was stillborn. Despite the pain of not being able to bring her home from the hospital, the couple found solace in visiting Avery’s grave at the Lexington Cemetery regularly.

Katie Black expressed, “We go multiple times a year, on her birthday, sometimes on the Fourth of July, just to decorate and spend the holidays that we don’t get to share with her.”

The unsettling discovery was made during the Blacks’ annual Memorial Day visit to Avery’s resting place, where they noticed that her grave marker had been moved to a different spot, approximately 30 feet away from its original location.

Confusion and disbelief set in as the couple approached cemetery staff for an explanation, only to be met with defensive responses insisting that Avery had been buried in the new spot all along. Katie Black expressed her frustration, stating, “It took seven years for them to realize her body and her marker were in different spots. I know that it’s not her, it’s just her body, but I feel like I hadn’t been visiting her.”

Demanding accountability and closure, the Blacks are now seeking a formal apology from the Lexington Cemetery. Bryan Black emphasised, “I want a written formal apology. I want a public apology. I want apologies for everybody else that they affect.”

Despite being provided with a hand-drawn map indicating Avery’s burial site, the family remains unsettled, as they have no concrete proof without exhuming her body. Disappointingly, Lexington Cemetery has declined to comment on the matter.
