CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Following a brief respite from the heat, Charlotte is set to experience a return of high temperatures and humidity for the remainder of the week.

On Wednesday, temperatures are expected to soar into the lower 90s after a cool start to the day. The humidity will also increase, with a mix of clouds and sunshine throughout the day.

Thursday, which coincides with the Fourth of July celebrations, will see temperatures climbing into the mid-90s in Charlotte. The humid conditions will make it feel even hotter, and there is a slight chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms.

A First Alert has been issued for Friday, as temperatures are forecasted to reach a scorching 98 degrees with a heat index surpassing 100. There is also a small possibility of isolated showers and storms.

As we head into the weekend, Saturday and Sunday will continue to be hot with temperatures in the mid-90s. The likelihood of thunderstorms will increase on both days, accompanied by cloudy conditions.
