Tyrell Knight : “Man Charged in Fatal North Braddock Crash”

NORTH BRADDOCK, Pa. — A man from New Kensington is facing charges in connection with a tragic pedestrian crash that took the life of a 75-year-old man in North Braddock in November 2023, as reported by Allegheny County police.

The incident occurred on Nov. 9 at 8:14 a.m. near the intersection of Braddock Avenue and O’Connel Boulevard. According to authorities, a vehicle veered off the road, striking and fatally injuring 75-year-old Harry King.

The driver of the car, identified as 37-year-old Tyrell Knight, remained at the scene following the crash.

After conducting witness interviews and analyzing evidence from the scene, ACPD detectives determined that Knight was travelling westbound when he crossed into the eastbound lane, drove over a concrete curb, and onto a grassy area where the collision occurred. Witnesses reported that Knight was driving recklessly and at a high speed leading up to the crash.

Further investigation revealed that Knight was driving with a suspended license, and a toxicology report showed the presence of cannabinoids and THC in his system at the time of the incident.

Knight now faces multiple charges, including homicide by vehicle and involuntary manslaughter. He was arraigned on Wednesday morning and is currently being held without bond at the Allegheny County Jail.
