Habersham County officials have sadly confirmed the passing of 15-year-old Theodore “Teddy” Bone from Eastanollee, Georgia. The young teen tragically lost his life early on Wednesday morning, just four days after being involved in a devastating church van accident in Habersham County.
Expressing their condolences, Habersham County Coroner Kasey McEntire released a statement saying, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends, and the whole River Point community during this very difficult time.”
The fatal wreck took place on GA-365 in Demorest, occurring after 1 p.m. last Saturday. The church van carrying Bone and six others collided with an SUV, resulting in multiple injuries and hospitalizations.
Following the accident, Theodore Bone was airlifted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta-Egleston, where he fought bravely for his life before succumbing to his injuries. Three other individuals, including the SUV driver, were transported to nearby hospitals via ambulance.

The conditions of the other individuals involved in the crash have not been disclosed by county officials, as investigations by the Georgia State Patrol are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the tragic incident.
Although the church affiliated with the van has not been named, the community mourns the loss of a young life and extends their support to those affected by the heartbreaking accident.
