SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – Steven Sheangshang, the individual accused of the tragic murder of Scott County deputy Caleb Conley in May 2023, finds himself in further legal trouble as he now faces an additional charge.

Currently incarcerated at the Bourbon County Regional Detention Center, Sheangshang awaits his upcoming trial.

Recent developments reveal that Sheangshang has been slapped with a charge of promoting contraband following a tip-off received by deputies on June 12. The tip-off highlighted a breach in the jail’s security, with a hole discovered in the bathroom leading to the outside.

Upon conducting a thorough search of Sheangshang’s cell, law enforcement officials unearthed three metal objects that could potentially serve as lethal weapons, as detailed in the arrest citation.
