Accident – Death – Obituary News :

In North Platte, Nebraska, family members are rallying around Richard Ortiz, a good Samaritan who is currently in critical condition after a tragic incident. Ortiz was allegedly run over by his own pickup truck, which had a camper attached, by a man he was trying to help.

The Nebraska State Patrol reported that the suspect, 32-year-old Abraham Pacheco, had broken into Ortiz’s truck and stolen it before fleeing from authorities. Ortiz, believing Pacheco was in need of assistance after an accident, approached him, only to be met with a devastating turn of events.

Family Seeks Support for Ortiz’s Recovery

Described as a true good Samaritan who has always gone above and beyond to help others, Ortiz’s act of kindness has now resulted in serious injuries. Family members have set up a GoFundMe page to help cover his medical expenses and other costs associated with the incident.

Ortiz sustained severe injuries, including nearly being scalped, a broken hip, broken pelvis, and multiple broken ribs. Tragically, his two dogs, who were inside the camper at the time, did not survive the ordeal.

Long Road to Recovery Ahead

As Ortiz faces a challenging journey to recovery, he will require surgery and extensive rehabilitation. The family is hopeful that through the generosity of others, they can raise enough funds to support Ortiz’s recovery and replace his damaged vehicle and camper.

Those who wish to contribute to Ortiz’s recovery fund can do so by visiting the family’s GoFundMe page and making a donation.

Suspect in Custody Facing Charges

Pacheco, the man responsible for the incident, was apprehended by law enforcement several hours after the incident. He now faces nine felony charges and appeared in court where he was held on a substantial bond.

As the community comes together to support Richard Ortiz during this difficult time, the hope is that he will make a full recovery and be able to continue his selfless acts of kindness in the future.
