PHOENIX (AZFamily/Gray News) — A heartbreaking incident unfolded in north Phoenix as a 1-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being discovered in a backyard pool.
Emergency services were alerted on Tuesday at approximately 1:30 p.m. to a residence on Villa Maria Drive, situated near the intersections of 27th Avenue and Union Hills Drive.
Upon arrival, Phoenix Fire officials found the young child unconscious in the backyard pool, with CPR already in progress by the time firefighters reached the scene.
Phoenix police officers swiftly joined the efforts, witnessing the valiant attempts of firefighters to revive the boy through CPR.
