A heartbreaking incident occurred in Sitio Tal-ot, Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City as a four-year-old boy tragically drowned after he slipped and fell onto a paved section near the riverside before plunging into the water.

Unfortunate Turn of Events

The child, identified as Mark Louie, managed to slip past the attention of his grandparents and wandered out of the house unnoticed. By the time his family realized his absence, it was already too late to prevent the tragic accident.

Mark Louie was quickly rushed to the hospital, but sadly, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The grandmother, Andrika Paraiso, revealed that the child had suffered a severe head injury, adding to the family’s grief.

Financial Scam Adds to the Family’s Distress

As if dealing with the loss of their beloved child wasn’t enough, the family was also targeted by a heartless scammer. The scammer contacted them through their e-wallet application, promising financial assistance in their time of need.

Trusting the scammer’s false promises, the family unknowingly provided the One-Time Password (OTP) for their e-wallet account, resulting in the loss of all previous donations amounting to P16,000 sent by kind-hearted individuals.

In light of these unfortunate circumstances, the grieving family is now appealing to the public for assistance in covering the burial expenses for Mark Louie. They emphasized their financial constraints and expressed gratitude for any help extended to them during this difficult time.
