Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A pet sitter from the Rover app in Houston is currently under investigation by the authorities following the tragic deaths of three dogs in her care, with four others being hospitalized due to heat stroke.

Jessica Hayward, a devastated pet owner, received the heartbreaking news about her beloved dog Goose, who was under the care of the pet sitter.

Speaking about Goose, Hayward said, “He was one of a kind. Anyone who met him immediately fell in love with his unique personality. He was more than just a dog to me.”

The Seerden family also experienced distress when they received a text message from the same pet sitter regarding their dog, Archie, who was rushed to the emergency room due to heat stroke and is currently fighting for his life.

It was later revealed that the dogs, including Goose and Archie, were placed in the pet sitter’s shed where the air conditioning had malfunctioned, resulting in seven dogs suffering from heat stroke, with three tragically losing their lives.

Hayward expressed her shock at the situation, stating, “We had no idea that there were other dogs in her care. She had numerous repeat clients in Houston and positive reviews, which is why we trusted her with Goose.”

Despite the devastating loss of Goose, Archie’s family remains hopeful for his recovery. Owner Andrew Seerden urged pet owners to be cautious when selecting pet sitting services and advised them to personally inspect the facilities before entrusting their pets.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the dogs’ deaths, and no charges have been filed as of yet.

Rover, the app through which the pet sitter was booked, has deactivated her account and pledged full cooperation with the investigation.

A spokesperson for Rover expressed the company’s deep concern over the incident, stating, “At Rover, many of us are pet parents ourselves, and our hearts go out to the families who have lost their pets. We are hoping for a speedy recovery for the dogs currently receiving veterinary care.”
