A resident of Brooklyn, Jean Severe, found himself in hot water after being accused of stealing a car, leading the police on a harrowing chase, and ultimately crashing into the Hudson River. The incident unfolded on Monday night at approximately 9 p.m. in Edgewater, New Jersey.

Law enforcement officials sprang into action after receiving a distress call regarding a stolen 2012 Volvo at Veteran’s Field. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Jean Severe, was promptly pursued by the police as he made a daring attempt to evade capture.

The dramatic pursuit unfolded on the Palisades Interstate Parkway, with Severe navigating the stolen vehicle at breakneck speeds in a bid to shake off his pursuers. However, his luck ran out when he lost control of the car and careened into the Hudson River at the Englewood Boat Basin.

Despite the vehicle coming to a dramatic halt in the river, Severe was swiftly apprehended by the authorities. Following his arrest, Severe was charged with motor vehicle theft and eluding, marking the culmination of a tumultuous evening of chaos and criminality.
