A tragic incident unfolded in Escambia County, Florida, last week when a 70-year-old woman was shot in a drive-by shooting on Erress Boulevard. Sadly, the woman succumbed to her injuries, prompting authorities to take swift action.
Jaquaris Ethridge, a 19-year-old suspect, now faces a homicide charge in connection with the shooting, as confirmed by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. Meanwhile, Terrance Gross Jr., also 19, awaits extradition back to Florida from Texas, where he was apprehended. Once back in Florida, his charges will be reevaluated.
The harrowing incident occurred on June 24 when the suspects, along with another individual, were travelling in a stolen vehicle on Erress Boulevard. Without warning, they began firing shots at a residence, with one of the bullets tragically striking the elderly woman in the neck.
Following the shooting, a pursuit ensued that eventually led to the suspects abandoning their vehicle and leaping off a bridge on U.S. 90. Tragically, one of the suspects did not survive the fall.
