MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WDJT) – A disturbing incident at a Wisconsin hotel has left a man dead after a confrontation with security guards was caught on camera.

The incident occurred outside the entrance of the Hyatt Regency Hotel, where 43-year-old Dvontaye Mitchell was seen struggling on the floor while being restrained by security guards on Sunday afternoon.

According to witness accounts, one of the guards was seen hitting Mitchell in the head with an object multiple times, despite Mitchell allegedly not resisting.

The witness, Shawn Moore, captured the altercation on camera, including the moments when Mitchell became unresponsive.

Police were called to the scene and found Mitchell unresponsive. Despite attempts to revive him, he was pronounced dead.

Mitchell’s family has described him as a loving and kind individual who was dealing with mental health issues.

His sister, Nayisha Mitchell, expressed concern about how her brother will be portrayed in the aftermath of the incident.

The Hyatt Regency Milwaukee’s general manager released a statement expressing sadness over the situation and stating that they are cooperating with authorities in their investigation.

This incident comes less than a year after another family in the area experienced a tragedy involving unlicensed security guards, leading to calls for better regulation of private security personnel.

At this time, no charges have been filed in Dvontaye Mitchell’s death, although the medical examiner’s office has classified it as a homicide.
