The chain of events began on the 11th of May when authorities received a distressing 911 call from a woman reporting a shooting incident involving her teenage neighbor, later identified as Jovan Wright Bullock. The victim was rushed to University Medical Center but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Following an investigation, detectives obtained crucial video surveillance footage showing three teenagers walking north on Robin Street towards Goldhill Way. The footage captured Bullock interacting with the trio before they all headed towards his residence. Moments later, the teenagers were seen fleeing the scene and boarding a Toyota Camry.

Subsequent findings revealed that all four individuals involved were students at Canyon Springs High School. Police managed to track down the owner of the vehicle, who disclosed that an 18-year-old named Doir Jenkins had borrowed her car. Upon returning the vehicle, the owner overheard Jenkins on a call mentioning that “they just caught a body,” a slang term indicating involvement in a murder.

Further investigations led authorities to the suspects’ Instagram accounts, where conversations with the victim were discovered on the day of the shooting. An anonymous tip on the 13th of May identified the alleged shooter as Doir, who had attended Mojave High School. This information paved the way for locating Jenkins, who had a history of incarceration and was on house arrest at the time of the incident.

The case took a dramatic turn on the 26th of June when Jenkins caused a serious car crash, resulting in critical injuries to a 19-year-old passenger in his vehicle.

Jenkins attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended later that day, along with Saulsberry and a third suspect, in connection with the murder investigation. Jenkins, who had prior charges related to firearm offences, was scheduled for a court appearance on the 9th of July, while Saulsberry awaited a bail hearing on the 8th of July.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the community remains vigilant, seeking justice for the tragic loss of Jovan Wright Bullock. The authorities continue to pursue the case with diligence and determination to ensure accountability for the perpetrators involved in this senseless act of violence..
