Accident – Death – Obituary News : MIDDLETOWN, CT — Authorities have apprehended a teenager in connection with a shooting incident that took place on a street in Middletown back in April, marking the second arrest in the case.

The incident unfolded at 2:33 p.m. on April 24, when the driver of a stolen vehicle stopped at the intersection of Court and Pearl streets. The driver exited the car and proceeded to discharge several rounds from a handgun at two individuals who were walking along Pearl Street, as per a police report. One of the targets, identified as 19-year-old Chauncey Robertson, retaliated by firing back with his own firearm, according to authorities.
After the exchange of gunfire, the driver got back into the car and fled the scene. Law enforcement officers managed to apprehend Robertson and take him into custody. Robertson currently remains in custody on a bail set at half a million dollars, facing several charges related to the possession and use of firearms. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 6. The shooting incident resulted in damage to multiple vehicles and properties in the vicinity, as stated in a police report.
Subsequent investigations revealed the identity of the driver as a 17-year-old resident of Middletown. The teenager was arrested on a warrant on Monday and charged with various offences including criminal attempt at first-degree assault, possession of a stolen vehicle, and reckless endangerment. The juvenile was remanded to a detention centre and was due to appear in court on Tuesday, as per police statements.
