Carrington McKnight : Harris County man faces charges for car wash chase

A 23-year-old man from Harris County, Texas is facing multiple charges after leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit with his 4-year-old son in the car. Carrington McKnight, who had an open warrant for aggravated assault, attempted to evade authorities by driving through Rich’s Car Wash on Barker Cypress.

According to investigators, McKnight’s vehicle became stuck on the tracks, prompting him to flee on foot with his young child. Deputies noted that the boy was unrestrained in the backseat during the chase. McKnight was seen running into traffic, attempting to enter moving vehicles, before ultimately jumping into the bed of a pickup truck.

Law enforcement had to utilize a Taser to apprehend McKnight, who was wanted for an aggravated assault incident involving two teenagers. The previous case, which occurred on June 27, saw McKnight allegedly brandishing a firearm at the minors while they were playing with toy guns at Barker Crossings HOA Park.

Azeal, one of the teenagers involved, recounted the terrifying encounter, stating that McKnight threatened them with the gun in front of his own child. McKnight, who was already on probation for two prior aggravated assaults, now faces charges of evading arrest and endangering a child in addition to the aggravated assault charge.
