BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. — A devastating incident occurred on Wednesday, July 2, at approximately 8:31 p.m., as first responders rushed to the scene of a severe two-vehicle collision with injuries in the 300 block of S. 11th Street in Niles Township.
The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office swiftly responded to the distress call, where they encountered a collision involving a commercial dump truck and a passenger car.
Upon arrival, deputies and emergency personnel were met with a harrowing sight – the driver of the car was trapped inside the vehicle and unresponsive.
Despite the valiant efforts of the first responders, the driver, a 69-year-old man from Granger, tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene shortly after.
