TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Tragedy struck in Tallahassee on Monday evening as a motorcyclist lost his life in a collision with a car, as reported by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident took place around 6:15 p.m. near the intersection of Capital Circle Southwest and Southern Street, a few blocks west of the intersection with Crawfordville Road. At the time of writing, Capital Circle SW remains closed in both directions between Tillie Lane and Center Drive, with LCSO spokesperson Shonda Knight advising motorists to seek alternative routes as investigations continue.

While the driver of the car sustained injuries in the crash, they are expected to recover, according to Knight. The identities and ages of both individuals involved have not been disclosed, as efforts are underway to notify the deceased motorcyclist’s next of kin.

In addition to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Highway Patrol is also on-site to assist with the inquiry, ensuring a thorough examination of the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
