The Anderson County Coroner’s Office in South Carolina is currently investigating the tragic death of a woman who was fatally shot by her husband on Monday evening.
The incident took place at around 11:20 p.m. on Harpers Way, where emergency services were called to the scene following a 911 report of a shooting with injuries. Despite the efforts of first responders to provide medical assistance to the victim, identified as 74-year-old Sally G. Brainerd, she succumbed to her injuries.
Preliminary findings from the coroner’s office suggest that Brainerd and her husband were involved in a heated altercation prior to the shooting. As a result, her death has been classified as a homicide.
Authorities from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office have indicated that they are currently awaiting the issuance of arrest warrants in connection with the incident.
