Robert Charles Baker recently entered a guilty plea to a first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge. Under the terms of the plea deal, Olmsted County prosecutors agreed to drop their request for an aggravated sentence in the case.
The criminal complaint against Baker alleged that he sexually assaulted a six-year-old girl multiple times between January and August 2022. According to the court document filed in February of last year, Baker became the target of an investigation after Rochester police were contacted by a Mayo Clinic physician who reported that a young female patient “had potentially been sexually assaulted.”
The evidence listed against Baker included the victim identifying him as the person who had raped her. Investigators also stated that the young victim “possessed and inappropriately comprehensive knowledge of human sexuality” while describing the sexual abuse she experienced.
