HERMITAGE, Mo. (KY3) – Two individuals have been taken into custody following an unsuccessful attempt to break into an ATM in Hermitage on Tuesday morning.
The suspects, in a van, were spotted by Hickory County Sheriff’s Deputies who then initiated a pursuit. The chase crossed into Camden County but the driver made a U-turn and headed back towards Dallas County. Spike strips were deployed, eventually bringing the van to a stop north of Urbana.
Further details on the incident are currently being sought from the Hickory County Sheriff’s office.
This incident comes in the wake of a series of ATM thefts that have been reported across Missouri, with the most recent one occurring at Oak Star Bank in Urbana. Other incidents have been reported in Eldon, Golden, Greenview, Lebanon, Rolla, Salem, Springfield, and Versailles.
