Authorities have confirmed that the eighth victim of the tragic shooting incident at the Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad in Rochester Hills on June 15 has been discharged from the hospital. The 30-year-old resident of Rochester Hills is now recuperating at home after spending over two weeks receiving medical treatment.

The shooting, which was described as a random act of violence, left nine people injured, including a 39-year-old mother from Rochester Hills who sustained serious injuries while shielding her children. Unfortunately, she remains hospitalized at this time.

Thankfully, there is some positive news as the woman’s 8-year-old son, who was also injured in the incident, was released from the hospital on Friday, June 28.

The perpetrator behind the shooting has been identified as Michael William Nash, a 42-year-old resident of Shelby Township. Nash tragically took his own life as law enforcement officers closed in on the mobile home he shared with his mother.

Authorities have chosen not to disclose the identities of the victims involved in the shooting at this time. The community continues to come together to support the victims and their families during this difficult period.
