Dozens of passengers were injured on an international flight after their plane encountered severe turbulence. The incident occurred on a flight operated by Spanish airline Air Europa, which was travelling from Madrid to Uruguay. The turbulence was so intense that the plane had to make an emergency landing in Brazil.
According to reports, the Boeing aircraft hit a patch of rough air, causing it to shake violently. This sudden turbulence resulted in at least 30 passengers sustaining injuries, with the inside of the cabin also suffering damage.
One of the passengers, Maximiliano, recounted the terrifying experience, stating, “From one moment to the next, the plane destabilized and went into a dive. The people who didn’t have seat belts went up in the air and hit the ceiling, and they got hurt.”
The injured passengers were taken to a hospital in Brazil for treatment. Some of them suffered fractures and injuries to their arms, faces, and legs. Despite the harrowing ordeal, many passengers expressed gratitude that the situation did not escalate further.

Stevan, another passenger on the flight, shared his thoughts on the incident, saying, “It was a pretty horrible feeling; we thought we were going to die there, but thank God it didn’t happen.”
The airline has initiated an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the turbulence and ensure the safety of future flights. Passengers are advised to always follow safety instructions during flights to minimize the risk of injuries during unexpected events like turbulence.
