ASHEVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – Asheville Police have announced the successful arrest of two individuals involved in drug trafficking at an east Asheville hotel following an extensive investigation.

The authorities revealed that the investigation led them to uncover criminal activities at a hotel located near the 140 block of Tunnel Road.

The suspects, identified as 53-year-old Brandi Yanette Haynes and 33-year-old Christopher Quamanie Hammett, were apprehended on Monday, July 1.

During the arrest, Haynes was found in possession of a concealed firearm and a significant quantity of illicit substances. Hammett was also discovered to have drugs in his possession.

Hammett faces charges including two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver schedule II, felony possession of schedule II, and resisting, delaying, or obstructing law enforcement. He was subsequently booked into the Buncombe County Detention Center with a bond set at $50,000.

Haynes, on the other hand, is facing a plethora of charges which include felony trafficking in methamphetamine by possession, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver schedule II, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver schedule VI, felony possession of schedule II, felony maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was remanded to the Buncombe County Detention Center with no bond set.
