A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday in Brevard County, Florida, when a driver lost his life in a fatal crash on Interstate 95. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver was ejected from his pickup truck after it overturned near mile marker 204 in the Cocoa area.
The fatal crash took place at around 11:45 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95. The driver, identified as a 79-year-old man from Clewiston, was driving a Nissan Titan in the outside lane when a tire ruptured, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
Following the tire rupture, the driver overcorrected the truck, leading to it rotating and eventually overturning. The pickup truck came to a rest on its side on the outside grass shoulder of the interstate. Tragically, the driver was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
Emergency services responded to the scene and airlifted the driver to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The passenger in the vehicle, a 47-year-old woman from Clewiston, fortunately escaped without any injuries.
