A report of shots fired at the Greene Manor Apartments in Xenia, Ohio, prompted a swift response from law enforcement on Monday evening. The 911 caller informed authorities that a man was firing a gun at the apartment complex, sparking concern among residents and officials.
Upon arrival at the scene, the manager of the complex informed police that the individual had also pointed a gun at him. This alarming detail heightened the sense of urgency for responding officers from the Xenia Police Department and Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
In total, six Xenia police officers and several Greene County deputies converged on the location. As they approached the suspect, he reportedly brandished a handgun and aimed it at the officers, prompting them to take action in self-defense.
The 23-year-old male suspect was struck by gunfire and subsequently transported to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, his injuries are considered non-life-threatening, providing some relief to concerned onlookers.
The identity of the individual involved in the shooting has not yet been disclosed, as the investigation is still ongoing. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation has been tasked with leading the probe into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
