The suspect accused of shooting a man at a child’s birthday party at Harford Mall and then fleeing the scene has been apprehended, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
Wesley Lyons, aged 35, was taken into custody on Sunday after law enforcement officers located him hiding in a hotel room in Anne Arundel County.
He stands accused of the shooting incident that occurred on June 2, which resulted in a 42-year-old man sustaining injuries during a dispute at the Harford Bounce Party Place.
Authorities stated that they were able to track Lyons’s movements and identify his whereabouts in Anne Arundel County.

Lyons’s vehicle and hotel room were identified through extensive physical surveillance conducted by the sheriff’s office.
Shortly after the shooting, two women believed to have been involved in the incident—identified as Lisa Gregg, Lyons’ mother, and his alleged girlfriend—were also arrested.
Gregg is facing charges of second-degree assault and other misdemeanours, with a trial scheduled for August 26, as per online court records. However, the woman identified as Lyons’ girlfriend does not appear to have been charged.
According to court documents, investigators allege that Gregg was engaged in an altercation with another woman, during which physical blows were exchanged. The alleged girlfriend was reportedly attempting to intervene and pull Gregg away from the altercation.
Surveillance footage allegedly shows Lyons firing a handgun multiple times at the victim, with the State’s Attorney accusing him of attempting to intentionally cause harm.
The trio fled the scene in Lyons’ maroon SUV, which was later found near his residence in Edgewood, according to authorities.
Lyons is currently being held without bond and does not have legal representation listed in online court records.
The State’s Attorney’s Office has asserted that the women played a significant role in concealing Lyons’ whereabouts.
WJZ, a media partner of The Baltimore Banner, conducted an interview with Lyons’s father, Larry Lyons, who made a public plea for his son to surrender.
“I’d like for you to turn yourself in. I know it doesn’t look good for you, and I know that you’d probably run out of resources or things to do. But to help me, your mother, and your brothers, just turn yourself in,” Larry Lyons stated.
