Authorities in Pulakeshinagar have apprehended a group of five individuals suspected of fatally attacking a 25-year-old construction labourer following a minor altercation in the neighbourhood of Jeevanahalli. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community.
The suspects, identified as Arun Kumar, John Jacob, Andrews, Prashanth, and Sanjeev, all residents of the Jeevanahalli slum and employed as daily wage workers, reportedly had a history of disputes with the victim, Vignesh Appu, who also worked in the construction industry.
According to police reports, tensions between Vignesh and the accused escalated after a previous altercation where Vignesh allegedly assaulted Arun Kumar and John Jacob. Subsequently, Vignesh relocated to Kurubarahalli in Mahalakshmi Layout to avoid further conflict.
However, the situation took a tragic turn when Vignesh returned to his former neighbourhood and encountered the suspects near the railway tracks. An argument quickly turned violent, leading to a brutal attack on Vignesh, who sustained multiple stab wounds before the assailants fled the scene.

Passers-by discovered Vignesh lying in a pool of blood and promptly alerted the authorities. Following a swift investigation, the police were able to track down and apprehend the suspects on Monday. They now face charges of murder, rioting, and unlawful assembly as the investigation continues.
