HERNDON, WV (WVNS) — Tragedy struck in Wyoming County over the weekend as a North Carolina woman lost her life in a fatal ATV accident. The incident occurred in the Herndon area on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 11:30 AM.
West Virginia State Police Captain Maddy reported that Cpl. M.C. Shifflette from the Jesse Detachment responded to a call regarding an ATV crash in the region.
The victim, identified as 41-year-old Victoria Ledford from Mount Holly, North Carolina, tragically passed away at the scene of the accident. It was discovered during the investigation that Ledford was not wearing a helmet or seatbelt at the time of the incident.
