Authorities are currently in contact with the relatives of 163 individuals who may be connected to the discovery of human remains at Legacy Independent Funeral Directors, as reported by The Guardian.
In a shocking turn of events, a total of 35 bodies were unearthed from the premises of the funeral home located on Hessle Road back in March.
Following the discovery, a 46-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were taken into custody on suspicion of various charges including the prevention of a lawful and decent burial, fraud by false representation, and fraud by abuse of position.

Humberside police released a statement saying, “As a result of our investigations, 163 families have been identified, and our officers have been reaching out to them to provide updates and discuss the available options.”
Support for Affected Families
Assistant Chief Constable Thom Mcloughlin, leading the investigation for Humberside police, stated to The Guardian, “In the past two weeks, our team has been actively engaging with the families linked to this case.”
Mcloughlin continued, “We have been updating them on the progress of our inquiries, discussing the recovered ashes, and arranging personal meetings to offer further support and explain the process in detail, along with the available choices.”
The police force refrained from making a public announcement until they had established initial contact with the affected families, prioritizing their needs and respecting the sensitivity of the situation.
