A Woodbridge resident has been taken into custody in Spotsylvania County in connection with the fatal shooting of a 52-year-old man.

Deputies responded to a 911 text call on the evening of June 30 at the 5300 block of Holley Oak Lane. The dispatchers relayed information to the deputies, indicating that a suspect wanted for homicide in Frederick County could be present at the location. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers identified and apprehended Terrance Lee Morris, a 38-year-old individual from Woodbridge, on a second-degree murder warrant from Frederick County. Morris is currently being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

The arrest of Morris is linked to the shooting incident that took place on June 25 in the vicinity of Double Tollgate and Fairfax Pike in Frederick County, resulting in the death of Clarke County resident, Romero Cook.

According to officials from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal confrontation between Morris and Cook began in Clarke County, possibly stemming from a disagreement over mechanical services. The situation escalated into a vehicular chase that ended in Frederick County, culminating in a face-to-face altercation and gunfire.
