A tragic incident unfolded late Sunday night in Wendell, North Carolina, as a woman who was seriously injured in a shooting has sadly passed away, according to the Wake County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident took place around 10:40 p.m. on Sunday in the 7000 block of Hodge Road near Wendell, prompting deputies to respond to the reported shooting.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered a woman who had sustained a gunshot wound. She was quickly rushed to the hospital with severe injuries.
Identified as 24-year-old Serenity Spencer, the victim tragically succumbed to her injuries on Monday morning, leading investigators to now treat the case as a homicide.
