Over the weekend, three men were arrested in Windsor following two separate incidents that involved disturbances and violence.

Disturbance at 920 Ouellette Ave.

On Saturday morning, police responded to a call at the apartment building located at 920 Ouellette Ave. after reports of a man causing a disturbance. The individual had discharged multiple fire extinguishers within the property and barricaded himself inside an apartment. Police stated that the man brandished weapons and made threats towards others, as well as threw objects from his balcony.

After a seven-and-a-half hour standoff, members of the Emergency Services Unit (ESU) were able to enter the apartment and apprehend the suspect without any further incident. A 59-year-old man now faces charges including assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, uttering threats, and mischief.

Stabbing Incident in the West End

On Sunday at 2:30 a.m., police were called to the 3300 Block of Millen Avenue regarding a stabbing incident. Upon arrival, officers found a man with multiple stab wounds. Another man with a stab wound was located in the 3800 block of Matchette Road. Both individuals were known to each other and had engaged in a dispute that escalated into violence.

Both men were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 31-year-old man and a 24-year-old man have been charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. The 24-year-old also faces an additional charge of failure to comply with an undertaking.

Authorities are urging anyone with information on either incident to come forward and assist with the investigations.
