Accident – Death – Obituary News : A tragic incident occurred on Sunday night in North Las Vegas, resulting in the death of a 67-year-old woman. The North Las Vegas Police Department reported that a suspect is in custody after a vehicle struck the pedestrian around 8:30 p.m. The crash took place on Cheyenne Avenue near Martin Luther King Boulevard, with the pedestrian crossing Cheyenne just east of the intersection and outside of a marked crosswalk, according to police.
The driver, identified as Luis Alvarado Lopez, 29, was eastbound on Cheyenne in a 1999 Acura when the collision occurred. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, and Alvarado Lopez showed signs of impairment. He was arrested and taken to the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center, where he faces charges of DUI resulting in death and reckless driving resulting in death.
