Accident – Death – Obituary News : Leekhan Bryan, a 62-year-old man, has been sentenced to life in state prison after being convicted by a Seminole County Jury on June 25, 2024, for a series of serious crimes including First-Degree Felony Murder, Kidnapping, Armed Burglary of a Dwelling, Grand Theft, Grand Theft of a Vehicle, and Tampering with Evidence. The conviction stems from the brutal killing of 62-year-old Trevor Morrison in 2021.
During a five-day trial where evidence was presented by Assistant State Attorneys Stewart Stone and Jacob Polk, the jury deliberated for just over three hours before returning with guilty verdicts on all charges. This verdict made Bryan eligible for a potential death sentence. However, after a two-day hearing where prosecutors presented evidence supporting five aggravating factors, the jury recommended a life sentence instead.
Circuit Judge Melanie Chase then imposed a life sentence for the charges of Felony Murder, Kidnapping, and Armed Burglary of a Dwelling, along with additional sentences of five years each for the remaining counts. All sentences will be served concurrently.
Following the sentencing, prosecutors expressed their gratitude to the Longwood Police Department for their diligent investigative work, which played a crucial role in securing the conviction and delivering justice for Mr. Morrison and his family.
Bryan was identified by Longwood Police as the individual responsible for beating and strangling Trevor Morrison to death at his residence on Heather Avenue. He then used the victim’s car to transport the body to Brevard County, where he disposed of it in the Banana River. Bryan was apprehended in Osceola County while still driving the victim’s car.
After the sentencing, Bryan was returned to custody at the Seminole County Jail and will soon be transferred to the Department of Corrections to begin serving his life sentence.
