A man was left seriously injured in the early hours of Monday morning following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 along the Kansas Turnpike in Leavenworth County, according to authorities.
The incident occurred at 3:08 a.m. on Monday on I-70, approximately 5 miles east of Lawrence, Kansas.
Kansas Highway Patrol reported that a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was travelling west on I-70 when it unexpectedly veered off the roadway to the south and entered the grassy median.
Subsequently, the truck re-entered the roadway, colliding with a sign and a delineator post before overturning multiple times and ejecting the driver.

Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene and swiftly transported the injured driver, identified as Juan Santa-Cruz, aged 33 and hailing from Topeka, to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas.
Kansas Highway Patrol confirmed that Santa-Cruz, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
