PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) has disclosed the identity of the 16-year-old victim who was fatally shot in Suitland on Thursday evening.
Responding to a distress call at approximately 6:40 p.m., PGPD officers arrived at the scene on the 7400 block of Towne Park Road to find two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Tragically, the teenage victim, identified as Juan Roach of Suitland, succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the second individual, a man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
According to a press release issued by investigators on Friday, it is believed that multiple individuals were armed prior to the shooting, with several people discharging firearms during the incident. PGPD has confirmed the recovery of a single firearm from an outdoor courtyard area.
