A man was taken into custody after firing shots at multiple individuals in the Meads Quarry parking lot on Sunday evening, as confirmed by officials from the Knoxville Police Department. The incident took place at 3518 Island Home Pike, where 20-year-old Joseph Wools was apprehended by law enforcement officers with a handgun in his possession.

Upon noticing the presence of authorities, the suspect attempted to flee the scene, discarding the firearm as he made his escape. Fortunately, the discarded weapon was promptly recovered by responding officers. Subsequently, Joseph Wools was pursued and apprehended by law enforcement personnel following a brief foot chase.

According to reports, two individuals informed the police that Wools had fired shots at them following an altercation. Thankfully, no injuries were sustained by any of the parties involved in the incident.

Law enforcement officials revealed that Wools was visibly intoxicated at the time of his arrest, indicating a state of inebriation. In light of the circumstances, the suspect now faces a series of charges which include two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm while under the influence, public intoxication, and evading arrest.
