A 28-year-old woman from Massachusetts had a frightening experience while hiking on Mount Major in New Hampshire when she lost her glasses over the edge of a cliff, according to officials from the New Hampshire Fish and Game department.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on a Saturday when emergency services received a distress call about a hiker who had veered off the trail on Mount Major. Utilizing GPS coordinates, rescue teams were dispatched to locate the woman. Approximately an hour later, they successfully located the hiker, identified as Grace Diehl, a resident of Cambridge, Massachusetts, who was found approximately 400 feet away from the Blue Trail in the woods.

Reports indicate that Diehl’s glasses had slipped off the cliff edge while she was attempting to retrieve them. Despite her efforts to locate them, she was unable to do so and found herself on a different trail than the one she had been on previously. Realizing she was lost, Diehl contacted authorities for assistance.
In a statement, officials from the New Hampshire Fish and Game department emphasized the importance of hikers being adequately prepared and ready for unforeseen circumstances while exploring outdoor trails.
