The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Gerry Frank Burde of Herndon, was apprehended by authorities at a location in Tysons Corner where he intended to meet a potential victim.

The investigation was initiated following a tip received by investigators at the McLean District Station on June 7. The tip indicated that Burde was engaging in inappropriate communication with an underage individual online. Subsequent enquiries led to Burde’s arrest and his subsequent detention at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Charges against Burde include the use of a communications system to solicit a minor, attempted forcible intercourse with a victim under 13 years old, and indecent liberties with a child under 15.
