Woman to Appear in Court After Fatal Crash on I-91 in Wallingford

A tragic incident unfolded on Friday morning on I-91 in Wallingford, resulting in the death of a maintenance worker. The woman responsible for the crash, identified as Denise Lucibello, is due to appear in court on Monday.

According to state police, the collision occurred at exit 13 near Toelles Road at approximately 9:20 a.m. Lucibello was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

The victim, Andrew DiDomenico, a 26-year-old maintenance worker from Meriden, was tragically struck by Lucibello’s vehicle while working on the Wharton Brook Connector. DiDomenico was part of a crew engaged in trash removal and lawn maintenance at the time of the incident.

Following the collision, Lucibello remained at the scene and subsequently failed a field sobriety test. She now faces multiple charges, including illegal operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license, unlawful operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, failure to drive in the proper lane, failure to slow down/move over for a non-emergency vehicle, and misconduct with a motor vehicle.

Lucibello is currently being held on a $1,000,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in New Haven court on Monday, July 1st, to face the consequences of her actions.
