Christian Moniz Rabino : Las Vegas Man Accused of Fatally Shaking Baby

A recent arrest in Las Vegas has shocked the community as a man has been accused of killing his girlfriend’s one-year-old child. The incident, which took place on June 1, has left many questioning the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.

According to an arrest report obtained by FOX5, officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call regarding an unresponsive one-year-old child. The child was quickly rushed to the Summerlin Pediatrics Emergency Room for immediate medical attention.

During their investigation, police interviewed Christian Moniz Rabino, who claimed to have been in the child’s life for the past six months, despite not being the child’s biological father. Rabino stated that he had called 911 after the child experienced difficulty breathing and eventually stopped breathing altogether.

Medical staff at the hospital discovered that the child had sustained injuries, including bruising to the head and a fracture to the right leg. The child required sedation and ventilation to stabilize his condition.

The child’s mother, known as Tautiana, informed officers that the injuries occurred when the child fell off a bed while under Rabino’s care. However, she admitted that the incident was never reported.

During police interviews, Rabino claimed that the child had experienced a seizure following a fever and body aches. He described finding the child on the floor next to the master bed after briefly leaving him unattended.

Further investigations revealed that the child had suffered multiple internal injuries, leading medical staff to suspect non-accidental trauma. Tragically, the child was taken off life support on June 4.

An autopsy later revealed extensive internal bruising and multiple broken bones in the child’s legs and hands. The cause of death was believed to be abusive trauma, according to the examining doctor.

Witnesses, including a close friend of Tautiana, recounted instances where they had observed concerning behaviour from Rabino. The friend claimed to have heard one of Tautiana’s children report being hit by Rabino, and also noticed bruises on Tautiana herself.

Rabino was arrested on charges of murder and child abuse following a warrant request. He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, August 7.
