NECEDAH, Wis. (WMTV/Gray News) – Tragedy struck a small town in Wisconsin as a devastating house fire claimed the lives of six family members over the weekend.
According to the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office, the fire was reported in the early hours of Sunday morning after a frantic 911 call from a concerned neighbour.
Responding deputies rushed to the scene on Morro’s Mile Road in Necedah only to find the house completely engulfed in flames. They quickly ushered multiple individuals to safety away from the burning property.
After speaking with those at the scene, authorities were informed that six occupants, comprising three adults and three children, were unaccounted for and likely still inside the inferno.

Firefighters battled the blaze for three gruelling hours, working tirelessly to extinguish the flames that ravaged the home. The aftermath of the tragedy saw emergency services remain at the scene for a total of 12 hours.
By Monday, the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the devastating news that all six individuals inside the house during the fire had tragically perished. The deceased were all members of the same family, although their identities have not been disclosed pending notification of their relatives.
Authorities have indicated that the fire is believed to have been accidental, and investigations are currently ongoing to determine the exact cause of the tragic incident. The Wisconsin Department of Justice – State Fire Marshal has been called upon to assist in the comprehensive probe.
