A tragic motorcycle crash in Madison Township, Guernsey County, Ohio, claimed the life of one man on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred at approximately 3:07 p.m. on U.S. Route 22, according to the Cambridge Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).
The victim, identified as Dylan J. Berry, 23, of Lore City, was riding a 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on US-22 when he veered across the center line and collided with the left side of a 2012 Kia Sorento traveling in the opposite direction. Berry was pronounced dead at Zanesville Genesis Hospital at 5:08 p.m.
Although the driver of the Sorento, a woman from Pickerington, and the passengers in the vehicle escaped injury, the tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers motorcyclists face on the road.
Alcohol Not a Factor in the Crash
Authorities have confirmed that alcohol did not play a role in the collision. However, it was noted that Berry was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, which likely contributed to the severity of his injuries.
