WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — A “structure/brush fire” ignited near Center Street in the town of Central, located in Washington County, on Sunday afternoon.

As per information from Utah Fire Info, the fire was first noticed just before 4 p.m. and had already spread to approximately 10 to 15 acres by 5 p.m.

Authorities at Utah Fire Info have stated that structures are currently at risk due to the blaze, prompting multiple resources to be dispatched to the site.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office took to social media to inform residents about the situation and advised them to steer clear of the area. Fire crews and deputies swiftly responded to the scene.

Hurricane Valley Fire and Rescue also made a social media post confirming that Tender 46 and Engine 42 were en route to tackle what they described as a “structure/brush fire.”

“Several resources throughout the county are assisting with this fire,” Hurricane Valley Fire and Rescue added.

At present, officials have not disclosed the cause of the fire.
