A Promising Start in Football
Ronald Powell’s football journey began at Rancho Verde High School in California, where he quickly established himself as a standout player. His exceptional talent led him to be recognized as a 5-star recruit and the top player in his class. After graduating, Powell committed to playing for the Florida Gators.
During his time with the Gators from 2010 to 2013, Powell showcased his skills and dedication on the field. Unfortunately, he had to sit out the 2012 season due to a torn ACL. However, Powell’s resilience and determination prevailed, and he was eventually drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL draft. He went on to play 14 games for the team.

Junior Galette, Powell’s former college football teammate, expressed his deep sadness over the loss on X. In a heartfelt message, Galette wrote, “I love you forever ’til we meet again. Ronald was not only an excellent father but also a respected brother and a loving son.”
